20日の授業はIzzyが講師でトピックはChristmas seasonについてでした。

Do you celebrate Christmas?　How do you typically celebrate the occassion？
この日は参加者が全員違う国籍だったのでそれぞれの国のクリスマスの過ごし方を話しました。
韓国では家族が集まってご飯を食べたり町へ買い物に出かける位
中国では若い人はお祝いをするようになってきたと言っていました。
イタリアではクリスマスはイブの夜は家族が集まり魚をメインにしたご馳走を食べ、
プレゼントをもらった後真夜中のミサ(midnight mass)に行くそうです。
またクリスマス料理ではpanettoneパネットーネという菓子パンのようなケーキがあり、
クリスマスが近づくとそれを皆が送りあったりするので、
クリスマス後3～4日間もの間朝昼晩ずっとそれを食べ続けなければならないはめになるそうです。
アメリカでも伝統的なカソリックの信徒は深夜の礼拝に出席するそうですが、イタリアほどメジャーではないそうです。

Does anyone exchange gifts amongst their family and / or friends?　Do adults ever exchange gifts?アジア圏では子供がプレゼントをもらいますが大人でプレゼント交換はあまりしないというと、
I still exchange gifts with my immediate family and closest friends
(私はまだ家族や親しい友人達とプレゼントを贈りあったりしている)
と言っていました。

まだKings Cakeというケーキについて説明してくれました。
It was traditionally a New Orleans custom, but now it has spread all over
It is in the shape of a ring.
One person brings the cake to the Christmas party (either on Christmas eve or Christmas day) and each person takes a slice.

There is also a tradition of giving your neighbors Fruitcake
But nobody actually likes it, so it's lost fashion... It just doesn't taste good and can be real hard!

日本ではクリスマスと言うとローストチキンが定番になっていますが
海外では色々な伝統料理があるようです。
